THEY SANK.
A Disaster on Sunday last at Douglass, Kans., in Which Four Former Porter County People Were Drowned.

From our Hebron correspondent we learn of the drowing near Douglass, Kans., on Sunday morning, 19th inst., of Jay Carman and wife, Cornelia wife of Anson Carman and Electa wife of James Carman, all of whom were born and raised in the vicinity of Hebron and who migrated in the spring of 1883 to Kansas. Other details we have been unable to learn.

Wm. Nichols and a son of E. B. Pratt, of Hebron, brothers spectively of Mrs. Jay and Mrs. James Carman, started Monday morning to the place of the disaster. The friends of the deceased have the sympathy of the entire community.
