Ezra Brownell

HEBRON, Ind. -- News was received here last week that Ezra Brownell had committed suicide on the grave of his wife in the cemetery in West Creek township, Lake county. Mrs. Brownell died at the residence of Chas. McGill, southwest of Hebron last spring with the grippe. She had been living out west, and was at McGill's. Mr. Brownell returned lately from his home in the west, and had gone to the grave yard and while there he fixed up his wife's grave and then shot himself. His despondency over her death was the cause of the rash act.
