Emma Bickford

LOCAL.
Miss Emma Bickford, daughter of Mr. Hiram Bickford, formerly of this place, now Chicago, died at the residence of the family last Thursday at three P. M., aged 26 years. She had been for years declining with consumption, but was able to be up, and sat at the table with the family at breakfast on the day she died. Her last request was to be buried by her mother in the cemetery here. Accordingly her body was brought here last Saturday, her funeral was attended at the Baptist Church, a sermon preached by Elder Whitehead, of Chicago, and the burial in the old ground toward College Hill. Her father was a Baptist, but his daughter not a member of any church.
