FORMER PORTAGE TOWNSHIP WOMAN PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Hattie Beringer, eldest daughter of the late Perry Blake, one of the Portage township pioneers, died last week at her home in Watervaliet, Mich., and her brother, D. P. Blake, returned two days ago, following the funeral. Mrs. Beringer was 67 years old and the mother of five grown daughters. Her husband, Dr. Beringer, was once a resident of Valparaiso. They were married forty-six years ago in the Perry Blake home.
