THE COUNTY.
JACKSON TOWNSHIP.
One of the sad events of the week was the death of Mr. Levi Benedick, which occurred on Saturday, Aug. 28th. Mr. Benedick was one of the oldest settlers in Laporte county, near Westville, and is missed very greatly by all who knew him. He was 63 years old and has been a member of the Methodist church about 36 years. He leaves a wife, two daughters, a son and many friends to mourn his death.
