NEWS OF THE WEEK.
On Saturday last two funerals took place at St. Patrick's church. At 9 o'clock the remains of Elizabeth Kemp, aged 80 years and five months, were brought to the church and the ceremonies of the dead were read by the pastor. At 10 o'clock high mass was celebrated over the remains of Joseph Bendig, aged 55 years. At both funerals the pastor addressed the assembled congregations on the certainty of death and the need of being always ready to meet that dread summons.
