Sarah Jane Beck

CHESTERTON CHIPS
Mrs. G. W. Beck, died at her home in Chesterton Thursday noon, Sept. 30, from the effects of paralytic stroke, aged 55 years and 5 months. Miss Sarah Jane Keith, was born in Buffalo, New York March 28, 1842 and came to Indiana in 1856 and has resided here ever since. In 1858 she married Mr. G. W. Beck, seven children were the fruits of this union, three of whom survive her. Mrs. Beck joined the M. E. church in 1860 under Rev. J. W. Forbes and since that time has been one of the churche's staunchest supporters, and her presence will be greatly missed by the entire congregation. Mrs. Beck was taken sick Tuesday noon and died within forty-eight hours thereafter. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the M. E. church and the remains interred in the Chesterton cemetery.
