Truman Arthur Beach

DIED.
BEACH. -- In Valparaiso, Ind., July 18, 1881, Truman Arthur Beach, son of Ezra and Jennie Beach, of cerebro meningitis, aged 18 years, 25 days.

Deceased was born in Valparaiso June 23, 1863, and he had grown to be a very promising young man. He was the favorite of many of his associates. In school, especially during the last two years, he was attentive to his studies, kind, obliging and gentlemanly. He had special skill for drawing, which became quite fully developed, and was exercised for some time prior to his sickness, to the great delight of all the members, in the blackboard exercises of the M. E. Sabbath-school, of which he was a devoted member.

His sickness is believed to have resulted from a fall from a bicycle which he was learning to ride. When he first became sick, owing to the disagreeable presence of fresh paint at his father's house, he was taken to the residence of his grand parents near by, with whom there was a very strong and mutual attachment. It was here that he died, and from the same place the funeral will be held to-day (Thursday), at 3 p. m., Rev. Worley B. Slutz, of the M. E. church, officiating, assisted by Revs. R. Beer and E. S. Riley. Pupils of the V. H. S. and the M. E. S. S. are requested to meet at the M. E. church at 3 p. m. and march in procession to the house. The procession from the house will be led by the Junior Band, of which deceased was a member, to the new cemetery, where his mortal remains will be laid.
