Obituary.
JAMES BAUM.

Mr. James Baum, an old citizen of Porter Co., died at his residence 4 miles east of Valparaiso, on the 6th inst. Mr. Baum was born in Crawford Co., Penn., Feb. 4, 1799. In 1814 he moved to Stark Co., Ohio, where he was married to Rebecca Miller April 8th, 1822, who survives him. In 1827 he moved to Richmond Co., Ohio, where he resided until 1835, when he moved to Porter Co., Ind., where he continued to reside on the same farm to the day of his death. At the time of his death he was 85 years, 2 months and 2 days old. He leaves the companion of his youth, with seven children to mourn their loss, two of the children having died in earlier life. The funeral services were conducted by Elder E. S. Riley in the presence of a large congregation of friends and neighbors, on the 8th inst. And at Luther school house.
