Rhoda Bates

A Card.
I desire to express in this public way my heartfelt gratitude to our friends, not only for their aid and sympathy, but for tender and faithful ministrations to the stricken one. God bless the true hearts and hands that poured "oil and wine into the bleeding wounds" and helped to care for and soothe the patient sufferer in the last sad days and hours, and for the fragrant tokens of love and regard, -- fit emblems of the beauties and sweet joys of the Elysian fields -- may Heaven's choicest blessings crown the lives of the donors, and the "gates stand ajar, for each and everyone as he shall approach the sacred portals. The true reward can only come with the reunion in the blest hereafter: "For oh, the deeply loved are there." The brave, the good, the wise, the fair."
Sincerely,
W. H. BANTA.
