PORTER, Ind., March 12. -- Died, at her home in Chicago, March 10, 1890, Mrs. Millie E. Baldwin, formerly a resident of this place, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ackerman, of Michigan City.
"There is no death! The stars go down
To rise upon some fairer shore,
And bright in heaven, jeweled-crown,
Thy shine forevermore.
Born into that undying life,
She leaves us but to come again,
With joy we welcome her -- the same,
Except the sin and pain.
And ever near us, though unseen,
The dear immortal spirits tread;
For all the boundless universe,
Is life -- there are no dead."
