The following information appears in the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society cemetery index for Union Township, Porter County, Indiana, published October 1994, concerning an unnamed cemetery:
"In 1872 a man was found hanging from a tree in section 36 south of 100 N. and west of 500 W. He was buried nearby. Some years later 2 little girls that died from Small Pox were also buried nearby."
