Transcribed biography of Myrta Grant Walters

Myrta Grant Walters (c. 1867 -1944). Myrta's first name appears in several forms as "Myrte and Miste." Myrta was the daughter of John Wesley Walters (1831 - 1903) and Maria C. Mock (1834-1888); see John's biography on this Porter County GenWeb site. On 25 June 1887, she married Minnesota-born Frank D. Foltz (September 1867 - 1953). Myrta spent the rest of her life in Porter County. Frank farmed in Boone Township. I know of four children of Frank and Myrta. The first is a six month old child who died 1 April 1892 and is buried in Cornell Cemetery, Porter County. Kathleen B. D. Foltz (30 September 1896 - 2 January 1975) was the second. She is shown as Cathleen in some censuses. She married Albert E. Homfeld and died in Highland, Michigan. Kathleen had a son, Max Homfiled, and a daughter, Edith Homfiled, whose married name was Luddington. Myrta and Frank's third child was Exa Foltz (circa 1899 - ?). The last was Edith Foltz, was born about 1903. Edith was still living in Boone Grove in 6 July 1927. Both Frank and Myrta are buried in Cornell Cemetery.
