May Wood
The following is from the Crescent Advocate.
GONE HOME.
Died, at the break of day Thursday, Oct. 18th, '83, Mrs. May Swartout, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wood, May was born in the glad spring time in the month of May, when leaflet and flower were unfolding, when the birds, nature's musicians, were making melody from tree top and bush. As if in harmony with surrounding nature, she too was musical. Often have these walls echoed symphonies produced by fingers now lying cold and pulseless. Often has the Crescent been helped and cheered by her willing assistance, and now she has gone from us. We mourn as her name leaves our roll, but we earnestly pray that she may be present at the blessed roll call of Him who doeth all things well.
