Leon Wininger
OBITUARY.
Leon Wininger, son of Andrew and Mary A. Wininger, who died at the residence of his father last Saturday afternoon, and whose funeral took place from the Methodist church, on Sabbath afternoon, was a boy of unusual promise, and greatly admired by all who knew him. He was greatly beloved by his parents and sisters, and was looked upon by them with pride, and bright hopes for the future. As a student in the public school he was surpassed by none in his class. As a Sabbath-school scholar he was loved by his teachers, and manifested a very deep interest in the word of God; and while he never made a public profession of his faith in Christ as his Savior, it is believed by those who knew him best, and from the interest which he took in the study of God's word, that he did look to and trust in Christ as his own personal Savior. This is the belief and great comfort of his parents in their sad bereavement.
That one so full of promise should be called away at the early age of fifteen years, may appear to many a defeat in the object of such a life; but not so to God who understands the full scope of our being. Nor has his life been in vain to his parents. He is their dear Leon, both in the rememberances of the past, and in their hopes and expectations of the future.
There are very many who sympathize deeply with this dear family in this, their great loss. Leon will no more return to them, but they may go to him.
