FUNERAL OF DR. J. R. WILSON
(From Monday's Daily)
The funeral of Dr. J. R. Wilson was held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Hebron Methodist church, with Rev. J. C. Martin officiating. Nearly all of the members of the Porter County Medical society were present in a body. Interment was in the Hebron cemetery. Following the inquest at Crown Point, the remains were brought to the home yesterday.
At the doctor's meeting held here Saturday to arrange for the funeral, Dr. H. D. Hayward, acting as president, named Dr. R. D. Blount and Dr. J. C. Carson as a committee to furnish floral tributes for the funeral, and to draft resolutions of condolence.
According to evidence at the coroner's inquest at Crown Point, Dr. Wilson was struck by a train running at a high rate of speed, and over three hours late, on a crossing that runs almost parallel with the track. Some contend that the engineer failed to blow the whistle. A train from the east cannot be seen at the fatal crossing, owing to a hill and a curve.
