Daniel Sprangue White

Daniel White.
Yesterday morning at about 35 minutes after 7 o'clock, occurred the death of Daniel White, one of Valparaiso's oldest and most respected citizens. For several weeks past he had had the malarial fever, but was not considered dangerously ill.

Friday he walked down to his brother's, Theron White's, and Saturday afternoon was able to walk about the yard.

Yesterday morning Mrs. White arose at about 7 o'clock, and after going out of the room she heard her husband groan. She immediately returned and found him gasping for breath, and in 35 minutes was dead. He seemed to be conscious, but could not speak. Apoplexy of the lungs was the cause of his sudden death.

Mr. White was born in Massachusetts in 1817, and has lived in Valparaiso since 1850. He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
