Obituary.
DIED. -- On Monday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Johnson, of Chesterton, after a lingering illness, Mrs. Johanna Lawson, at the age of 67 years. The funeral services will be conducted to-day (Thursday) at 2 o'clock p. m. at the Swedish Lutheran church, Rev. Sandahl of Chicago officiating.
Deceased was born in Gotenborg, Sweden on April 2nd, 1820, and was one of the three daughters of Peter Whalberg. She emigrated to the United States in 1854, and settled in Boston, where her family lived nine years. In 1865 they came to Millers, which has been her home the greater part of the time until 1884, when they came to Chesterton. She was an arden christian woman, patient and kind. The disease which resulted in her death was cancer in the stomach, and which gave her extreme pain, but was endured with the same patience that characterized her life. She leaves one daughter Mrs Johnson, one sister, Miss Whalberg in Chesterton, one sister in Sweden, and many friends to mourn her loss.
