NEWS OF THE WEEK.
DIED. -- One Monday, July 28 at 9 o'clock, o. m., at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Carlson, Miss Elizabeth Weistrand, aged 32 years. She was a victim of quick consumption, and had been ill about four months. The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 2 o'clock p. m., from the Carlson residence and the remains will be placed in the Baillytown cemetery. Miss Weistrand was a sister of Postmaster Weistrand, of Hageman, and was born in Sweden. She came to the United States with her mother in 1870, and since that time she lived in Chicago. She came out here on being taken sick, thinking that the change would be beneficial to her. She was a devout christian, and a member of the Swedish Lutheran church. She leaves a large circle of friends here and in Chicago to mourn her loss, and a family of two brothers and two sisters.
