Henry Wallace
NOTED EDITOR COUSIN OF VALPARAISO WOMAN
Henry Wallace, editor and publisher of Wallace's Farmer, one of the foremost rural publications in the country, whose death was noted recently in the Vidette, was a cousin of Mrs. James McIntyre of this city. He had often visited here. Through his paper he was known to many farmers in the county who were his subscribers. A copy of a Des Moines paper received at this office, containing accounts of his death and the history of his life, shows the esteem in which he was held in his home state.
Governor Clarke and Senator Cummins were two of the noted men who sent telegrams of condolence to the bereaved family. Others came in from all over the United States.
Mr. Wallace was 80 years old. He fell dead on the street when he seemed to be in the best of health. He was a prolific writer. The columns of many of the best magazines were open to him, and his books for the betterment of country life are well known. One of his articles is soon to appea in the Ladies' Home Journal.
