Eva Walker
On Sunday before last Mrs. Margaret Abel received a telegram from her niece, Miss Eva Walker, at Warsaw, of the latter's deathly sickness, and requesting Mrs. Abel and her daughter Mrs. Gogan, to come there and attend her. This summons they obeyed that same day, and Miss Dora Gogan who was then in Chicago on the great excursion, by her mother's direction, followed one or two days later. Eva was found delirious with brain fever, and continued so till Friday last, when she died. During all this time she was under the utmost exclusive care of these friends from here. Just before her death she recognized her aunt and siad: "O, Aunt Margaret, poor Eva must died. Isn't it too sad?" She was a familiar acquaintance of Cassie and Effie Abel, who died months ago, and while dying exclaimed: "Why, Cash O, Eff! where have you been all this time?" The funeral was on Sunday at Miss Eva's house, conducted by the M. E. pastor and his choir, and she was buried in a beautiful cemetery on the shore of a lake. Those friends from here, who regarded her as a daughter, sister and aunt, returned home Monday, and report these facts to the Vidette. They speak in high praise of the several doctors who were in attendance, and especially of Dr. Bacon, who was specially attentive. They also thank the many neighbors and citizens of Warsaw for polite and sympathetic attentions during the sickness, death and funeral.
