John Vaux

RPORT OF THE CORONER'S INQUEST.
State of Indiana, Porter County ss:

BE it remembered, that on the 4th day of April, 1885, information was given to me that the dead body of a man lay in Westchester Township, in said state and county, supposed to have come to his death by accident or casualty, and to ascertain so far as possible the cause and circumstances of said death, witnesses were called and examined, and their material evidence reduced to writing, signed by myself, and given to the Clerk of Porter county.

Whereas, I find decedent's name to be John Vaux, about 50 years old, dark complexion, 5 feet 11 inches high, weight about 200 pounds, who came to his death by falling from the fast train of the Michigan Central R. R. Co., at a place three miles east of Furnessville, fracturing the skull, and causing death in one hour. How or in what manner decedent fell from the train is not known. Body was given in charge of friends for burial.

A. P. LETHERMAN,
Coroner of Porter County.
