DIED.
UPTHEGROVE. -- Edna B., infant child of H.J. and L. Upthegrove, at 12 o'clock Sunday night, July 8th, 1877, of congestion on the brain.
The funeral took place on Monday at 4 P. M., conducted by Dr. Graham. Its stay on earth was so brief, that it seems as an angel that had strayed from the portal and again returned to the fold.
REQUIEM.
E arly away, though loved and cherished,
D rifting afar from human sight,
N ot lost, though gone -- life hath not perished,
A lthough translated into light.
B righter than scenes of earthly vision,
A convoy came to guard his flight,
K indred and spirits from Elysian,
E nfranchised,
R obed in vestments white.
U pward 'til reached the heavenly portal,
P iercing the cloud-realms on their way,
T riumphant passed the young immortal
H ap'ly dissevered from his clay!
E ntering the gates of the "forever,"
G lad minstrels with their harp-strings vic.
R e-echo -- "Here are partings, never;
O ne more hath life, no more to die."
V oices repeat: "No more we sever."
E choes the symphony on high!
