Fatal Collison.
At Chesterton Tuesday night about dusk a Swedish stranger who had been begging about the town through the day started on the railroad track to walk to Porter, a station about two miles distant, and when only a short way out met an approaching passenger train, which hurled him from the track and caused his instant death. The train engineer reported at Chesterton that he had struck an object supposed to be a man, and his horrible apprehension was confirmed by brief search, the unfortunate victim proving to be the Swedish begging tramp. The coroner yesterday held an inquest and rendered a verdict in accordance with the above facts exonerating the railroad company from all blame.
