LOCAL.
On last Christmas day a man of name unknown came to Mr. Minhart's at Porter Station in this Porter County, Indiana, and was there confined by sickness of which he died on the morning of Dec. 28th. No letters or papers were found about him affording any clue to his name, home or acquaintances, except a notice in his sachel printed at Glendin, Iowa, to which place Trustee Ingraham wrote for information, describing the stranger, but could learn nothing in answer except that such a man had called at a store there and bought some crackers and cheese. He was about 23 years old, had dark hair, and had lost the two small fingers of the right hand. This notice is for information to his friends, whoever and wherever they may be, and other papers may befriend them by extending its circulation.
