DAVID TULEY, WESTVILLE VETERAN, TAKEN FROM RANKS
Laporte Herald: David Tuley, a resident for a great many years of this county, and a retired farmer, died at 8 o'clock last night at his home in Westville, following an illness of about four weeks with heart disease. He was born in Ohio in 1843 and was 72 years of age the 22nd of last December. He left the farm about nine years ago, since which time he has lived in Westville. Mr. Tuley was a veteran of the civil war and a member of the 12th Indiana cavalry. He belonged to the G. A. R., Westville post, and the Knights of the Maccabees. He was married April 29, 1869, to Miss Georgia Taman, who survives him. There are no children. The deceased leaves three sisters, Mrs. John Cathcart of Westville, Mrs. Edward Slocum of Wanatah, and Mrs. Austin Goldsmith of Bigheart, Okla. The funeral will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday at the residence, and the interment will be in the cemetery at Union Mills, Rev. E. T. Scott officiating.
