Hung themselves! -- Jesse Leggett, of Boon township, in this county, was found last Thursday afternoon suspended by the neck with a halter from a beam in Joshua Allen's barn, having as is reported, hung himself on account of domestic difficulties. He was immediately taken down, soon recovered, and is well as usual.
In the forenoon of the same day John Teeter, living 4 miles north of this place who has for two years been in a state of mental despondency, and often attempted suicide, was found by one of his sons in his stable, suspended by the neck with a half-inch cord from a harness peg, so low that his knees touched the ground. When taken from this position he was found to be alive, and Dr. Cameron sent for, who visited him and found the spinal cord partially dislocated. The patient continued a short, and labored, but evidently unconscious breathing until Saturday afternoon, when he died. He was buried Sunday, the 17th.
