Cassie Taylor
OBITUARY.
MRS. CASSIE TAYLOR.
Mrs. Cassie Taylor was born near Hebron, Porter co., Ind., Nov. 27, 1865, and died at Elkhart, Ind., April 17, 1885. -- She was a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Cass, long resident and well known in that party of the county. She died in early life, the victim of that fell destroyer consumption. She was married to L. M. Taylor Jan. 6, 1884, and shortly afterward removed with her husband to Elkhart. Here hasty consumption, invited by predisposition and by a somewhat frail constitution, soon found her and speedily did its work. Mrs. Taylor was brought up to respect religion but never became personally religious until about 3 months before her death. At this time she sought Christ as a Saviour, and found, trusting in him, his sweet legacy of peace. From this time onward, especially, she was patient, trustful, resigned to the will of God, and hopeful as to the life beyond. The night before her death she seemed to realize that the end was near and requested and urged her husband and other friends who were present to meet her in a better world. She spoke glowingly of her own peace, of her outlook for the future, and of heaven as a place worth living for. Thus, young in years, and very young in Christian experience, she triumphantly passed away. Her remains were taken away to Door-village, Ind., where, after appropriate funeral services conducted by Rev. Isaac Dale of Laporte, the interment took place. A husband and 2 sisters are left to mourn her departure, but they sorrow not as those having no hope. The rest of her family preceded her to the other world.
