Susan Stoner
OBITUARY.
Mrs. Susan Stoner died at her residence on Morgan Prairie on the 16th instant in the 71st year of her age. A little less than a year ago, her husband, Abraham Stoner, departed this life. This death breaks up another parental family, one in which the families of the children could gather, and have a common interest. Mrs. Susan Stoner, the deceased, was born in Maryland, December 1, 1810, and married to Abraham Stoner in 1831, by whom she had nine children, four of whom are still living to mourn her loss. She was a faithful wife, a loving and tender mother, and a highly respected neighbor and citizen. She was not a member of any church but during her sickness she expressed her faith in Christ as her Saviour and looked to him for support in her sufferings. Elder Riley preached her funeral sermon from Luther's school house on Saturday, the 18th inst., at 11 o'clock, in the presence of a large congregation of relatives, neighbors and friends, from 1st Pet., i., 2. After which her remains were deposited in the cemetery near by -- at the side of the remains of her husband. This is a sad bereavement to the family, but they mourn in hope.
