Hannah Stoner
CHESTERTON CHIPS
Grandma Stoner, one of Porter county's pioneers, died at midnight, Tuesday, aged 77 years. For many years she had been a sufferer from asthma. A few days previous to her death she contracted a bad cold, but it was not considered serious, and when she retired Tuesday evening she seemed better. At about 11 o'clock her daughter found her dying. She had been a widow since 1877, and was the mother of Russell Stoner. The funeral was held Friday at 10 a. m. and the interment was at Adams cemetery.
[Note: Grandma Stoner's given name, Hannah, was found in the Adams Cemetery records published by the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society.]
