Mrs. Stoddard
Obituary.
Tuesday night Mrs. Stoddard, wife of Porter county's sheriff, died very suddenly, shortly after undergoing a dangerous surgical operation. She has been suffering for some time ailments peculiar to women, and an operation became necessary. Tuesday afternoon this was performed, and upon its completion, it was thought the patient would recover. About 9 o'clock she suddenly grew worse, and in a few minutes expired. Mrs. Stoddard was 47 years old, a lovely woman, a devoted wife, and the fond mother of five children, who survive her. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, beginning at 2:30 o'clock from the Adam's church, Morgan Prairie, Rev. J. B. Updyke officiating. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire county.
