Thomas Stanton
Horrible Fate of a Former Citizen.
The following from San Bernardino is supposed to have reference to a younger brother of Aaron Stanton of this city, as his home is within a short distance of that place:
SAN BERNARDINO, Cal., Nov. 28. -- Thomas Stanton, while cooking his supper over a fire on the outskirts of the city, Thursday night, was approached by four Indians, who demanded whiskey. Having none to give them he was unmercifully beaten, then held over his fire and was roasted alive. His legs were burned to a crisp and he cannot live. The Indians will be lynched if discovered.
