Staake
PERSONAL MENTION.
The old saw that "It never rains but pours down" is aptly illustrated in the misfortunes of Dr. Staake of this place. Last Sunday his tent caught fire from a spark from a locomotive at Wakerton, and with the contents, including clothing, money, papers and bedding, was totally destroyed. The doctor while trying to save something from the burning tent, was badly burned about the head and hands. Hardly had the flames completed their work of destruction when a message hot from the wires told him that his little daughter, a babe five months old, was dying. He hastened home, and saw her close her eyes in death on Tuesday. The little one was buried Wednesday forenoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. Jesse. The family have the sincere sympathy of all who know them here in their bereavement.
