Christopher Slont
A Fatal Accident.
Christopher Clont, an old resident of Westchester township, met with a fatal accident last Saturday, about noon. He was at work on his farm a short distance west of Old Porter, hauling poles for firewood. He had loaded his wagon and started for the house, and on the way the front wheel of the wagon struck a rut, and the motion threw him to the ground. The fall unjointed the victims neck, and also caused severe injuries on his skull. The team, being without a driver, ran away, and came home. Mr. Slont was found soon after, and taken home. He lived about 90 minutes after the accident.
Christopher Slont was aged 49 years and 6 months, at the time of his death. He was a native of Germany, and a brother of Charles Slont, of this place. He leaves a wife and two step-children. The funeral took place Monday from the McCool chapel, the services being conducted by a minister from Hobart. The remains were buried in the McCool cemetery.
