Walter Skinner

Walter Skinner is Dead.

The community has been seldom so startled with grief as when apprised on Monday of the decease of Walter Skinner, son of Hon. S. S. Skinner, of this city.

Walter had passed his twelfth birthday in April. He had generally been healthy, though not rugged, and his final sickness was of less than a week's duration. His death is supposed to have resulted from some stoppage in the bowels or intestines, which no medicine could relieve, and during a portion of his illness he was an intense sufferer.

Deceased, for one of his years, was widely known, and was universally regarded as truthful, dutiful, obliging, and kind. In school, he was studious and obedient; at home, gentle and affectionate. Indeed, he was one of our most promising youths, and at this unripe age his death seems untimely and the more sad. The grief-stricken family have the inespressable sympathy of a consoling public.
