Frank R. Shunk

THREE HOME VISITED BY DEATH ANGEL
(From Saturday's Daily)

Frank R. Shunk, a veteran railroad man of this city, died last evening at 9:20 o'clock at his home on Lafayette street. Uremic poisoning was the cause of death. Since last June he had been declining in health, until a few weeks ago his condition became so grave that hopes were abandoned for his recovery.

The deceased was born in Canton, O., May 10, 1852. When a young man he moved to Ft. Wayne, where he became associated with the Pennsy line as a car foreman. For thirty years he remained with the company in this vocation, severing his connection five years ago to take a position with the Grand Trunk in this city.

For twenty-eight years Mr. Shunk has resided in this city, and he made a host of friends who were drawn to him by his genial ways. Always on the alert and with a fund of jokes and stories, he created merriment everywhere he went and was a sure cure for the blues.

Surviving him, besides the widow, are five children: Mrs. C. L. Clover, of Ft. Waye; Mrs. Harry Knott, of Plymouth; Mrs. Walter Specht and Miss Julia Shunk, of this city, and Charles Chunk, of St. Paul, Minn. He also leaves four sisters: Mrs. Thomas Custe, of Lima, O.; Mrs. George Baker, of Dyer, Ind.; Mrs. Frank Ketchmeyer, of Chicago, and Sister Alphonso, of New Regal, O.
