Marie Severt
PITHY PORTER POINTERS.
The funeral of Mrs. Marie Severt was held last Sunday, services being conducted by Rev. Schlecter, in the German Lutheran church. The church was crowded with mourning relatives of the deceased, to hear the last sad tribute of respect paid to a beloved heighbor, friend, wife and mother. The funeral sermon was an eloquent appeal to the Divine Ruler, and a touching tribute to the memory of a good woman, who by a long struggle with toil, had succeeded in raising a large family of children, ready to take their places in the world, and become useful citizens. The funeral procession was one of the largest ever seen here, being nearly a mile long, and composed of citizens of Chesterton, Porter, and the surrounding country. The remains were laid to rest in the Chesterton cemetery.
