O. V. Service
THE COUNTY.
HEBRON.
O. V. Service, an early settler at Southeast Grove, died Saturday morning, 6th inst., of cancer, from which he has been an intense sufferer the past year. I had an acquaintance with him for nearly 40 years. He was a radical abolitionist in an early day; and by some was regarded at times fanatical on that subject, but he voted as he talked and prayed, and lived to see his prayers answered. He leaves a wife and a large family all grown and married, together with a wide circle of friends, to mourn their loss. Deceased was born in October, 1808. His funeral took place from his house, conducted by Rev. Stright, and his remains were taken for burial near his old home at South East Grove.
