Viola R. Salisbury
Mrs. Viloa R. Salisbury (Mallory), who died at her residence in Valparaiso on Thursday night at 10 o'clock, the 13th inst., and who was buried on Saturday at 2 o'clock, was born near Lockport, New York, in1838. She moved with her parents to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at the age of 4 years. She was united in marriage with Marion A. Salisbury in 1863, by whom she had five children, three of whom are still living. She united with the Presbyterian church, Thursday, Nov. 29, 1883. She was the oldest of five children, two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are still living, one of whom is a Minister of the Gospel, in the Episcopal church. Mrs. Salisbury was a woman highly respected as a citizen by all who knew her. She loved her family and was devoted to their interest. She was a faithful wife, and a devoted mother, and will be a great loss to her family. She is called away at a time when it seems she was most needed, but He who controls all events knows best and doeth all things well.
Her sufferings were long and painful but she endured them with great fortitude and patience. Her funeral services took place at the family residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, being conducted, in the absence of her pastor, by Elder Riley of the Baptist church, after which her remains were buried in the old cemetery. Mrs. Salisbury leaves a husband, three children, her aged parents, two brothers, and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss.
