Willie Bartels Rudell
Obituary.
Willie Bartels, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rudell, whose funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by Elder E. S. Riley, on Monday, the 3d inst., was born in Chicago, March 2, 1878, and came with his parents to this place in 1880, and hance at his death, which occurred on the 2d inst., was 6 years and 8 months old. He was a lovely child. In bodily form he was well-nigh perfect. In mental ability he was bright, and in spirit he was pleasant and companionable. His presence was the sunshine of the family, and his death is a terrible affliction to his parents. But they have much to comfort them. His thoughts were much heavenward, and they know that he is safe in the arms of Jesus. They have the warmest sympathies of a large circle of friends. Willie had been a member of the M. E. Sunday-school, but at the time of his death, and for some time previous, he belonged to the Baptist Sunday-school. He was greatly beloved by his teachers in both, as well as by his teacher in the public school. He loved the Sunday-school, and his mind went out much through its instructions and the songs they sung to the better world beyond.
"Asleep in Jesus; blessed sheep,
From which none ever wake to weep."
