Dora Rosecrans

OBITUARIES.
DORA ROSECRANS,
daughter of W. H. H. and Anna Eliza Rosecrans, was born April 7th, 1863, and died June 4th, 1883, aged 20 years, 1 month and 28 days.

It seems hard to part with one we love so dearly, one who was the light and life of our family group. Affection and love constituted her life. They were in every word, thought and deed during her long and painful illness. While lying for days in untold suffering not one unkind word by her was spoken. She had words of love for all. Her life was full of sunshine; all was bright in her pathway. She worked hard to make all around her happy. She received her education at the district school and at the age of 17 commenced teaching and continued in this work up to the time of her last illness. She was ambitious in her calling and did all within her power to advance those under her care. She governed by love and had the love and respect of all her pupils. It was in her work of teaching that she contracted the disease which at last took her to the grave. "'Tis sweet to live but sweeter yet to die," seemed to be her thought during her illness. Her last words were "There will be no suffering or pain or sorrow there." "Lay me peacefully and quietly away under the sod." She was soon to have been married to Charles Marshall, but he who knows best ordered it differently. The funeral services were conducted at the house on the 5th inst. by Elder E. S. Riley, after which the remains were laid in the new cemetery.
