Roberts
Painful Casualty.
Last week a lamentable accident occurred at the residence of Mr. Roberts, blacksmith at Flint Lake. It was washing day, and the boiler stood on the stove part-full of boiling water. Two of the children -- a babe and one but little older, sat by the stove playing, when a third child, considerably larger, began to play with the stick used for punching down the clothes, and managed to tip the boiler over on the two below, who were instantly covered with scalding water. The babe was injured so that it lived but a few hours; the other little sufferer was so badly burned that the flesh came off from part of one limb, but may yet recover.
