Matilda Plimpton

OBITUARY.
Died, on Thursday night, May 21, 1891, Mrs. Matilda Plimpton Hall, at her home in Jackson township, of la grippe, aged 81 years, 5 months, and 27 days. The funeral was held on Sunday following, at 2 p. m., services being conducted in the Chesterton M. E. church, Rev. W. Hall officiating, and the remains were buried in the Chesterton cemetery.

Deceased was born in Staffordsville, Tolland Co., Connecticut, on Nov. 24, 1809, and came to Ohio when a young lady, and was in that State married to Loring Hall in 1836. The same year, she with her husband, moved to Indiana, settling near Cedar Lake, Lake county, where they lived two or three years. They then moved to Porter county, which has been her home ever since. She was the mother of six children, three of whom survive her, they being Caroline, Sandford and Billings Hall. Mrs. Hall survived her husband twenty-six years. She has been a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal church for sixty years, and was an active worker in the Burdick charge up to her death. She leaves many loving friends who mourn the loss of a noble woman.
