William C. Paramore
Another Old Citizen Gone.
The death of Dr. Wm. C. Paramore occurred on the 15th inst at his home in Hebron. At the time of his death Mr. Paramore was 73 years old. He was born in 1809 in Liecestershire, England, and with his father's family took ship in 1820 to come to America. The ship was wrecked on the Irish coast and driven into Cork. The emigrants again started on their voyage and in 1831 arrived at Quebec, coming to Knox county, Ohio. Here he lost his first wife, whom he married in Scotland. He came with his family to Valparaiso in 1853 and began to practice medicine which he continued to do until quite recently, when he abandoned the active duties on account of failing health. Death called his second wife, an estimable Christian lady, about 9 years ago. To the doctor in these marriages were born 10 children, of whom 6 are living. During the last 9 months he had made his home with his son John at Hebron, whence he was called to his master. For more than 50 years he has been an acceptable member of the M. E. church, and for a longer time an accredited member of the order of Free-mason. He died as he had lived, with strong faith in Christ. His funeral services were held in the M. E. church of this place Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. W. T. McMullin, of Lafayette. The burial ceremony was conducted by the Free-masons. A large concourse of citizens followed the remains to the grave.
