Mrs. W. B. Owens
Mrs. W. B. Owens is Dead.
Thousands of people will read the above line with profound sorrow. It is given to few mortals to cast more sunshine around, and do more good than did Mrs. Owen. Her whole life was spent in scattering happiness around her. Her influence was wonderful.
After suffering for nearly a year with a cancer, Mrs. Owens passed peacefully away at her home in Hobart, Saturday, Nov. 20th, it also being her fiftieth birthday. The funeral services were conducted at the residence on Nov. 23, at 1 o'clock, Rev. Schell officiating. After the services the remains were conveyed to the funeral train and taken to Oakwoods cemetery, Chicago, for interment.
The funeral was one of the largest ever seen in Hobart, and was attended by many sorrowing friends from abroad. Mrs. Owens well known in Chesterton and Porter, at one time being a resident of the latter place, and about twenty-five of her friends from here attended at the last sad rites.
She leaves a husband and two sons, and a legion of friends to mourn for her untimely passing away.
