John Olsson
LOCAL NEWS.
Died: -- On Saturday, Feb. 11, at 3:56 p. m., at Tampico, Ills., Mr. John Olsson, aged 69 years, 10 months and 6 days. Decease has been ailing for some months past, but had not been confined to his bed until about a week previous to his death. The funeral services were conducted in the English M. E. Church by Rev. Bell, on Monday, Feb. 12, at 10 o'clock and the remains buried in the Tampico cemetery. The funeral was one of the most largely attended ever held in that section. Mr. Olsson leaves a family consisting of a wife and six children, among who is the Rev. A. G. Olsson, pastor of the Swedish Lutheran church of this place. He was a devoted christian, and had repeatedly expressed his willingness to die. He was fully prepared. Every member of the family was present at the time of his death. Mr. Olsson came to America in 1853, and settled in Dixon, Ills. After a residence of one year he removed to Tampico, where he remained until death. He had many personal friends among the Swedish people of our community who will greatly mourn his loss.
