Alice Oliver

THE COUNTY.
SALEM.
Mr. and Mrs. Gregg's daughter, Ella, aged 18 years, was buried on Thursday last week. She has been a great sufferer for a long time previous to her death. In about eight hours after the death of Ella Gregg the neighborhood was startled by the news of the sudden and unexpected death of Miss Alice Oliver, a young lady who lived with Mr. Nichols near Salem. It was supposed she had consumption, but if I was rightly informed had been confined to her bed scarcely at all. She ate a hearty supper, and died soon after. Death came to her as a sudden and unexpected guest. Thus have passed away from earth two highly esteemed young ladies, "and the place that once knew them will know them no more forever."

"Tears have their time to fall
And flowers to wither at the north wind's breath,
But then, thou hast all seasons
For thine own oh death!"
