Alvaretta Odell

Obituary.
DIED. -- On Thursday p. m. at 4 o'clock, January 21st, 1886. at her home, No. 32 Plum Street, chicago, Ills., Miss Alvaretta Odell, heart disease, aged 28 years, 3 months, and 2 days.

Deceased has been an invalid for the past year, and was confined to her bed three months previous to death. Miss Odell is well known in this vicinity she being a niece of Mrs. C. Seamons, and has spent much of her time here. When a small child she met with a terrible accident, being badly burned about the face and chest. The injuries sustained in this accident made her more or less an invalid during the whole of her life, and had much to do in causing her death. She was a devout christian, being an active member of the Baptist church since childhood. Her last hours were in marked contrast with the suffering she endured previous to the day of her death, as she passed away peacefully and painlessly. On Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock the funeral services were preached over the remains at the 2nd Baptist church of Chicago, and then sent to Chesterton for burial. On Sunday the remains, were laid to rest in the Chesterton cemetery, there to sleep beside the earthly remains of thirteen relatives and friends. She leaves a large circle of relatives and friends, both here and in Chicago to mourn her loss.
