A Card.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE VIDETTE: Dear Sir -- As we cannot personally call upon each of the many friends who sympathized with us in our late affliction and manifested sincere respect for our departed son and brother, we desire thro' the medium of your paper to express our humble thanks. We tender that gratitude that cannot be expressed in accordance with the dictates of our hearts to those many friends who assisted us in his last illness, at the death-bed and at the funeral. Respect for the dead is sacred and admirable, and its manifestations is fully appreciated by us. Words are inadequate to express our thanks to the Valparaiso City Band, their leader Mr. Schuster and St. Paul's Band, and we assure them that their kindness shall never be forgotten. While we shall always recall to memory with sadness our son and brother and breathe a requiem in his behalf, we shall never fail to invocate a blessing for our many friends.
JAS. F. O'KEEFFE AND FAMILY.
