Daniel Montague
LOCAL.
Mr. Jas. M. Buel, Sen., formerly of this place, but for many years now of Chicago, with his family were her last Friday and Saturday, visiting their friends, but what brought them at this time was the burial of Mr. Daniel Montague, his son-in-law, the husband of his daughter Roanna. Mr. Montague was a cattle dealer living at Jacksonville, Ill., and on Saturday, the 3d, he went to Waverly, some 20 miles away to buy, and at 3 or 4 P. M. while on horse-back looking at some cattle, feeling well as usual, suddenly he got off and began to rub his wrist, and expressing wonder at his singular sensation asked those present to assist in rubbing him, and them began to sink down, saying "What is this that's falling on us? Send for my wife." He then became unconscious and entirely helpless. He was taken to a public house and died at 9 P. M. His body was transported to Chicago and kept in the cemetery there till Friday last, and then brought here to bury in our old city cemetery where her grand-parents and other relatives lie. Mr. Montague left his wife, whom many of our people well remember, with a boy seven years of age, to mourn their loss. They must have much sympathy from old friends here. Mr. Montague is reported to have been a very estimable man.
